Assisting schools and families with the transition to college or graduate school -
Contracts have included:  St. Croix Country Day, Freewill Baptist School, and University of the Virgin Islands.  Served as a Public Service speaker for Public Schools, WSTX radio, and Channel 12 TV.  Published articles in The St. Croix Avis and The Daily News.  Developed informational website www.collegecounselling.com and the UVI Counseling & Placement pages of the www.uvi.edu site.  Served as Interim Supervisor of the Counseling & Placement Office of UVI.  Received Grant from School-to-Work /Career Initiative for community outreach programs which included the development and publication of two pre-senior brochures and seven Open Houses.  Member:  Virgin Island Counselors Association, Caribbean Counselors Association, NACAC. 1999-

COLLEGE COUNSELING at Baylor School (Tennessee)
Serving as one of three counselors serving an upper school of 850.  Responsibilities include the enhancement of parent/school communications and career counseling initiatives, curriculum review, and advisor program. Member:  NACAC, SACAC, College Board.   2002-

DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE COUNSELING at Foxcroft School (Virginia)
Managed all aspects of college counseling office in a school community where all graduates pursue 4 year degree programs.  Supervised computerization of office procedures, data management, and creation of college counseling webpage.  Organized annual events:  College Admissions Workshops, Parent Weekend Presentations, faculty workshops, college visit programs, Alumni Panels and small group meetings for juniors and seniors.  Published College Counseling Guidebook, monthly parent and student letters.  Served as Test Center Supervisor for SAT,, ACT, and TOEFL.  Attended ACT, College Board and NACAC national conferences, regional meetings and college visit programs in New England, Mid-Atlantic, and the South.  Coordinator of Testing.  Teacher of Psychology. Presenter at NACAC.  Member:  NACAC, College Board, PCACAC, ACT, Curriculum and Testing Committees.  Volunteer for USA TODAY Hotline.  1995-1998

DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE COUNSELING at Wayland Academy (Wisconsin)
Directed program for 75 graduates.  Published Guidebook and month letters to students and parents.  Organized annual events:  workshops, Wayland College Night, Alumni College & Career Panels, test prep sessions, and international student admissions seminars.   Supervised computerization of office procedures, secretarial staff, and data management.  Served as Test Center Supervisor.  Attended Counselor Visit Programs in the Midwest, Pacific Northwest, California, Florida, and New England.  Speaker for WASSACAC, Wisconsin Counselor’s Association, and WI ACT conferences.  Board Member of AAUW.  1991-1995

SCHOOL COUNSELOR at St. Johnsbury Academy (Vermont)
Coordinated college counseling program in a Guidance Office of 4 counselors.  Organized the first Northeast Kingdom College Night, Salute to Teens Week & College Awareness programs.  Developed resident & international student College Orientation and Peer Tutor programs.  Produced Academy College Counseling Guide.  Served as Coordinator for Upward Bound, Senior Class Advisor, NHS Advisor, TOEFL & ACT Test Supervisor.  Taught Psychology, Sociology, Family Living & SAT Review.  Organized AFS Sailing Program in the Bahamas.  Attended VACD, NEACAC, and Regional College Board conferences.  Visited 60 colleges during the summers of 1986 and 1989.  Developed first Academy Profile.  Member:  Vt. COLLEGE AND CAREER COUNSELOR/TEACHER at St. Andrew’s School (Bahamas)
Adapted college counseling program to a British system school where most of the graduates of Form V pursue higher education in the U.S.  Developed a 12th grade college prep program for students graduating at age 16.  Initiated programs including College Fairs & Career Days.  Maintained communications with parents, teachers, and administrators concerning student progress and curriculum development.  Organized AIFS European Summer Tour and Killington Ski Trip.  Test Supervisor:  SSAT, SAT & TOEFL.  Visited college and prep school campuses.  Member:  Bahamas Counselor Association, Exec. PTA Board, ECIS.  1982-1985

COLLEGE AND CAREER COUNSELOR/TEACHER at TASIS-Lugano (Switzerland)
Developed and initiated college counseling program for juniors and seniors.  Extensive counseling of high school students to help them establish goals, identify options, and determine plans of action in reference to their post-secondary future.  Addressed many academic, personal, family and financial concerns.  Other responsibilities included dormitory residency, campus duties, coaching girls volleyball.  Organized and chaperoned several school travel programs.  1980-1982

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION at Hood College (Maryland)
Assisted in the development of student recruitment programs and had sole responsibility for Pennsylvania & Western Maryland.  Successfully increased the number of matriculated students in these areas of 43 percent.  Attended NACAC college fairs, national conferences, and admissions and financial aid workshops.  Visited over 100 public and private/parochial secondary schools annually.  Served as Admissions Counselor for two years.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR INTERESTS/ACTIVITIES
SAILING -- 1998-2002 Extended Cruise to Caribbean aboard FRODO (31’Golden Hind Sloop).   Captained Power and Sail Boats in the British and US Virgin Islands.  Volunteer Sailing Instructor for KATS (Kids And The Sea, St. John).  Explored Chesapeake Bay in Solstice (27’ Bristol Sloop) summers 1986-1988, sailed from Boston to the Virgin Islands 1990-1991.  US Coast Guard Captain’s License 1997- present

Enjoy hiking, traveling, skiing, swimming, canoeing, SCUBA and skin diving.
